External Counter Pulsation Therapy (EECP)

EECP is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment for heart-related disorders such as Coronary Artery Disease and Heart Failure. Its unique mechanism targets the “small vessels” of the heart, which are too tiny for bypass surgery or angioplasty. By working on different circulatory areas, EECP can be effective even when other procedures fail. Patients typically undergo EECP for one hour a day, five days a week, for a total of 35 hours over seven weeks. This therapy develops and enlarges collateral blood vessels (Nature’s own bypass), creating new pathways around blocked coronary arteries and increasing blood supply to the heart muscles.

Benefits of EECP

Reduced need for medicines

Reduced frequency and intensity of chest pain

Increased exercise tolerance

Improved sense of well-being

Overall improvement in quality of life

Lead a more active life

Who is it relevant for?

Individuals diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease.

Patients suffering from Heart Failure.

Those experiencing persistent chest pain (angina) despite medication or prior interventions.

Patients who are not candidates for bypass surgery or angioplasty.

Individuals seeking a non-surgical option for improving heart health.

Anyone looking to improve their quality of life and exercise tolerance due to heart conditions.

Curious about the procedure?

Relaxing Setup

Patients relax comfortably on a padded bed with pneumatic cuffs wrapped around their calves and thighs

Timed Cuff Inflation

Cuffs inflate sequentially during diastole (heart at rest): calves, then thighs, then upper thighs, and all pressure is released at the onset of systole

Monitored & Controlled

The EECP device's control panel allows for cuff adjustments, inflation/deflation timing, and provides ECG and pulse monitoring
